On Wednesday, June 8th Centerpoint Advisors hosted a Trivia Night at the Social Restaurant and Bar in Newton to benefit The Children’s Room, a non-profit grief counseling center located in Arlington.  The Children’s Room operates completely from donations such as those contributed by Centerpoint and the gracious guests of this event, and TCR never charges a fee to children or families in need. The Trivia Night was comprised of 11 teams of 4-5 players each, along with many supportive on-lookers.  Participating teams not only battled against the wits of others in the field, but also against renowned author, ESPN guest, and Boston Globe columnist Bob Ryan in a test of Boston sports knowledge.  ESPN’s Mike Reiss, who you may recognize for his coverage of the New England Patriots, generously donated his time as Master of Ceremonies for the event, and kept the evening lively as our emcee.

Throughout the competition, Bob and Mike shared stories from various Celtics, Red Sox, Bruins, and Patriots milestones, creating an atmosphere of nostalgia, encouraging all in attendance to share memories of their own. Most would have bet on Bob coming away in first place (especially after the first bonus round when he correctly named 15 out of 17 Celtics head coaches to take the lead) but he ended up finishing behind 3 other teams, landing him in fourth place…not too bad for a team of one!

Fun was had by all and the event was a success, raising over $7,000 to support the programs of The Children’s Room. We extend our sincerest thanks to all of our guests, sponsors, and supporters of this wonderful organization.
