John Wolfsberg

Managing Principal

John’s skillset and keen eye for investment strategy brings great depth the the portfolios of Centerpoint clients. His vast institutional fixed income experience is perfectly suited to his main role as head of fixed income portfolio management and Managing Principal at Centerpoint Advisors.

John’s experience with institutional investors has provided him with the invaluable experience in both trading and portfolio management that he now utilizes in the construction of bond portfolios for our high net worth clients and qualified plans. The constant change in the bond market, both in trading and in products, creates many inefficiencies; identifying opportunities for clients in this inefficient market is John’s focus at Centerpoint.

Background

John received a Bachelor of Science from Stonehill College where he graduated cum laude. Following a commission as a Second Lieutenant in the U.S. Army, John served a brief tour for training before returning to the civilian sector to earn his Certified Public Accountant designation. His financial career began in the public accounting sector culminating as a manager at PWC where he assisted venture capital backed companies going public. In 1994, John began his investment career at Bear Stearns, where he covered institutional fixed income clients across multiple sectors. Clients included state funds, insurance companies and money managers nationally with portfolios in excess of $10bn. Most recently John earned a certificate degree from the Harvard Business School Executive Program in Leading a Professional Service Firm.

He is a member of the Centerpoint Advisors Investment Committee, and is responsible for the creation of all fixed income commentary alongside Director of Investment Management Mark Barry and Portfolio Manager J.D.
